Swamplandia! - Karen Russell This book is really good. Ava Bigtree is an amazing character, and it's wonderfully written. It shows how the Bigtree family members deal with the death of its matriarch, and how a summer can change people forever. It's an eccentric story but, in the end, is also a classically about people. I just wish the end was less...disappointing. Or common place.
